Mekillot

Mekillot

Mekillots are enormous desert-dwelling lizards that are sometimes domesticated by the people of the Tablelands for their carrying power. ‘Tamed’ mekillots are still unpredictable creatures, and will occasionally still devour its handlers. Mekillots are sometimes used to host mounted fortresses on their sturdy backs. These mekillots are used for mass transport and trade for the most part. The tongue of a mekillot is characteristically long, and can snag and pull in meals to swallow whole. A typical mekillot is no less than five thousand kilograms and usually eight meters long, though some grow to twice that length.
